It was the residence of Gladstone "Happy" Wilkinson, a member of Excelsior Lodge, No. 7.I.O.O.F. and the Holeinthewall club, known for his legendary knowledge of local history. It was once surrounded by beautiful gardens and willed to the municipality as "Happy Wilkinson Park".
