There is something about the Victorian train stations in Europe. Despite being well over 100 years old, and built in the days of Steam, they still look Distinctly modern serving 300km/h trains.
Perhaps just as futuristic looking, is the modernist Ottawa Union Station By Parkin and Associates. Built for the National Capital Commission, it was owned by CN, and built between 1962 and 1966. On Jul 31, 1966: CN Train No. 5, the Montreal-Vancouver Panorama, is the last train to depart from Ottawa’s old Union Station at 12:40 AM. All trains since have called at this station.
The Giant roof floats above the station and covers the entry and access to the tracks, though most passengers go down the escalators or the helical ramp, through a tunnel under the tracks to emerge on the platforms. The platforms themselves are Matt black and Minimalist, though they do provide coverage.

Inside granite and board formed concrete make up the interior. a round ticket counter sits in the middle of the hall.
